SBI eKYC: It is always important for banks to have updated details with the documents provided. One of the popular banks in India, the State Bank of India (SBI) allows users to update KYC details using online methods, which allows customers to send KYC documents from home without visiting the bank.

If your documents are not with the bank, SBI can freeze your account, which will not allow you to do any transactions from the account. To unfreeze the account and get full control, you need to update your KYC details.

SBI Bank has confirmed that KYC Updation will be done on the basis of documents received from customers through post or registered email. Customers will not be required to personally visit the branch for the purpose of KYC Updation. Let us have a look at how to update KYC for SBI Bank online.

To update KYC Documents, before submitting the documents for KYC, you need to submit certain documents to the bank. We have listed all accepted documents for Individuals, and NRIs.

KYC Documents Required for Individuals

The following documents are accepted as proof of identity and address. No documents need to be sent for proof of identity and proof of address.

  •  Individuals (Documents acceptable as proof of identity/address)
  • Passport
  • Voter’s Identity Card
  • Driving Licence
  • Aadhaar Letter/Card
  • NREGA Card
  • PAN Card

NRIs KYC Documents

  • Foreign Offices
  • Notary Public
  • Indian Embassy
  • Officials of the correspondent banks whose signatures are authorized through the bank’s authorized (A/B category Forex handling branch) account.

How to Update SBI KYC Details Online

  • Scan the documents you have to give to the bank as KYC Proof (Address and Identity Proof).
  • Email or courier the KYC Document to the SBI bank branch.
  • Once the bank gets your email ID, they will take some time to verify the documents.
  • Once the documents are verified, the KYC details of your account will be updated.
  • The email id and bank address of the bank branch can be found on the first page of the SBI Passbook.
