NIJASHREE Prakalpa 2023 (Housing Scheme) | WB Government will build flats
NIJASHREE Prakalpa 2023: The big announcement of the state government for the lower and middle class The state government will launch the ‘Nijashree’ project in Bengal this time
The state cabinet meeting was held on Wednesday. It was there that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s decision to build flats for the lower middle class and the middle class was passed. The name of the project is Nijashree. Under this project, the state government will build 4-story housing on their own land. There will be 1 bhk flat and 2 bhk flat. Municipal Minister Firhad Hakim announced the project on Wednesday.
It is true that the central and state governments are putting a roof over some people’s heads through housing schemes, but the demand for a roof over the head is steadily increasing.
Especially among the middle class and lower class (Middle-Class Lower Middle Class) who do not come under these schemes. At the same time, the population of the country is increasing, the family is getting bigger and breaking up and taking the form of a family. In that direction, the demand for houses is also increasing.
But the way the prices of flats in the private sector are increasing, it is becoming practically impossible for the lower and middle class to buy those flats. In this situation, the government of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee showed the way.
Mamata’s government is going to build flats in the Kasba area of Kolkata and Barracpur and Kalyani near Kolkata for the lower and middle-class people living in Bengal. That will be done by the state-run Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority or KMDA. They will build those flats on their own land. The price of the flats will start from 11 lakh rupees.
What is NIJASHREE Housing Scheme?
The shelter is the most basic human need next to food and clothing. The Government of West Bengal is determined to provide a ‘Basha’ (house) to all the people belonging to the Lower Income Group (LIG) and the Middle Income Grout (MIG).
There is a growing demand for housing amongst families belonging to the low and middle-income categories. In order to cater to the housing needs of the Lower Income Group and the Middle Income Group, the Housing Department felt the need to make provisions for affordable housing and decided to introduce a new Housing Scheme, namely ‘NIJASHREE’, which envisages the construction of multi-storeyed LIG.
MIG flats on the public lands belonging to the State Government, local bodies and parastatals and thereafter allotting such flats to eligible families by lottery on an ownership basis.
