আপনার স্মার্টফোন একবার চার্জ করতে কত টাকার বিদ্যুৎ খরচ হয়?
Smartphone: চলুন আজ আমরা ছোট্ট একটা পরীক্ষা করে দেখি। দিনরাত চার্জারে স্মার্টফোন লাগিয়ে রাখায় যে ‘কোটি কোটি টাকা’ আপনার পকেট থেকে বেরিয়ে যাচ্ছে, তার একটা হিসাব কষার চেষ্টা করি। চাইলে আপনারাও খাতা-কলম নিয়ে বসে যেতে পারেন।
আমাদের লক্ষ্য হলো, স্মার্টফোন একবার শূন্য থেকে পূর্ণ চার্জ করতে কত টাকার বিদ্যুৎ খরচ হয়, তা বের করা।
আর সে জন্য, আপনার স্মার্টফোন এবং যে চার্জার দিয়ে চার্জ করেন, সে সম্পর্কে গোটা কয়েক তথ্য দরকার। যেমন স্মার্টফোনের ব্যাটারিটি কত মিলিঅ্যাম্পিয়ারের, চার্জারটি কত ওয়াটের এবং ওই চার্জার দিয়ে শূন্য থেকে শতভাগ চার্জ হতে কতক্ষণ সময় লাগছে।
স্মার্টফোনের মোড়কে কিংবা নির্মাতা প্রতিষ্ঠানের ওয়েবসাইটে ব্যাটারির মিলিঅ্যাম্পিয়ার (Mah) সম্পর্কে তথ্য পাবেন। আর চার্জারের গায়ে সচরাচর ওয়াট সম্পর্কে তথ্য লেখা থাকে। এবার স্মার্টফোনের ব্যাটারির চার্জ কোনোভাবে শূন্য করে ফেলুন। ভিডিও দেখুন, ইন্টারনেট ব্রাউজ করুন, গেম খেলুন। চার্জশূন্য হয়ে বন্ধ হয়ে গেলে এবার চার্জিং কেব্ল যুক্ত করুন। দেখুন শতভাগ চার্জ পূর্ণ হতে ঠিক কত সময় লাগে।
অর্থাৎ আমরা বলতে পারি,
৪০০০ মিলিঅ্যাম্পিয়ার ব্যাটারির একটি স্মার্টফোন ৫ ওয়াট চার্জার দিয়ে চার্জ করতে যদি ৩ ঘণ্টা লাগে, তবে মোট বিদ্যুৎ খরচ হবে ৯ পয়সার মতো। আপনি যদি প্রতিদিন একবার করে বছরে ৩৬৫ বার চার্জ করেন, তবে মোট খরচ হবে ৩২ টাকার কম।
এর সঙ্গে অবশ্য বিদ্যুতের অপচয় থাকতে পারে, বিদ্যুতের বিলের সঙ্গে অতিরিক্ত খরচ থাকতে পারে। আবার সব সময় যে শতভাগ চার্জ হলেই আমরা চার্জারের সঙ্গে স্মার্টফোনের সংযোগ বিচ্ছিন্ন করি, তা-ও তো নয়। তবু সব মিলিয়ে খরচটা নগণ্যই বলতে হয়।
স্মার্টফোনে বুঁদ হয়ে থেকে আপনি ‘অসামাজিক’ হয়ে পড়ছেন কি না, তা নিয়ে ভাবতে পারেন। তবে দিনমান সেটি চার্জ করতে গিয়ে ফতুর হবেন কি না, তা না ভাবলেও চলবে।

In other words,
we can say that if it takes 3 hours to charge a smartphone with a 4000 mAh battery with a 5-watt charger, then the total power consumption will be around 9 paise.
If you charge 365 times a year once a day, the total cost will be less than 32 rupees. However, there may be a waste of electricity, there may be additional costs with the electricity bill. Again, it is not the case that we disconnect the smartphone from the charger only when it is 100% charged all the time. However, the cost is negligible.
You can think about whether you are becoming ‘antisocial’ by being stuck on a smartphone. However, even if you don’t think about whether you will be bankrupt or not while charging it during the day.
