Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay Biography: A Bengali lawyer and judge, Abhijit Gangopadhyay Mahashay, is God’s forerunner to all categories of job seekers in the post-independence history of the 21st century.

Abhijit Gangopadhyay did his schooling at Bengali Medium School ‘Mitra Institution’ (Main) in Kolkata. He completed his school education in 1979 and studied education at Hazra Law College.

The career of Abhijit Gangopadhyay:
Firstly, Gangopadhyay Mahashay started his career as an ‘A’ grade officer in the West Bengal Civil Service in North Dinajpur district. But later due to government-level corruption he resigned from the service and started practicing as a state lawyer in Calcutta High Court. Here he worked as a lawyer for 10 years.
He was then appointed as Additional Judge of Calcutta High Court on 2nd May 2018 and as Permanent Judge of Calcutta High Court from 30th July 2020. So far, he has been holding this seat and giving several important judgments.

Notable Judgments:
The importance of the few judgments he has delivered as a senior lawyer over 60 cannot be overstated. He continued to deliver significant judgments in corruption cases with an aggressive attitude. From getting a 76-year-old school teacher 25 years of salary arrears to a cancer-stricken teacher’s 12-day salary being taken away from the head teacher, he has set rare examples of a judge’s humane face in the justice system.
Since November 2021, Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay has issued multiple directions for a CBI investigation against the West Bengal School Service Commission in the teacher recruitment process.
Then when the political situation became critical, Gangopadhyay wrote a letter to the Chief Justice of India seeking the intervention of the Chief Justice of India regarding the action of the Division Bench in regard to the alleged irregularities of the School Service Commission. On 13 April 2022, he even decided to boycott the court. Under the political regime, of Education Minister Partha Chatterjee and Minister of State for Education, the investigative inquiry is the result of his verdict.

At present, Judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay Sir is associated with education-related cases. Recently 1911 SSC Group D jobs were canceled as a result of his verdict.
