CTET 2024: Registration begins, exam on November 21

CTET 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2024. The registration process for CTET 2024 has begun on November 3, 2023, and the last date to apply is November 23, 2023. The CTET exam will be held on November 21, 2023.

CTET exam details

CTET is a national-level exam conducted by CBSE twice a year to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching posts in government schools. The exam is divided into two papers:

• Paper 1: For teaching classes 1 to 5
• Paper 2: For teaching classes 6 to 8

Candidates can choose to appear for either paper or both papers.

CTET eligibility criteria

To be eligible for CTET, candidates must have:

• A bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized university
• A teacher training diploma from a recognized institution

CTET application process

To apply for CTET, candidates must visit the official website of CBSE at ctet.nic.in: https://ctet.nic.in/ and fill out the online application form. The application fee for CTET is ₹1000 for general candidates and ₹500 for reserved category candidates.

CTET exam pattern

The CTET exam is a computer-based test (CBT). The exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions. The duration of the exam is 2 hours 30 minutes.

CTET syllabus

The syllabus for CTET is based on the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) curriculum. The syllabus covers the following topics:

• Child development and pedagogy
• Language comprehension and expression
• Mathematics
• Environmental studies
• Social studies
