আমাদের ব্যবহৃত ব্লে’ডের (Blade) নকশার আ’সল র’হস্য অনেকের অজা’না!
প্রাত্যহিক জীবনে নানা প্রয়োজনীয় জিনিসগুলোর মধ্যে ক্ষুদ্র ব্লেডও( blade ) একটি। কিন্তু খেয়াল করে দেখেছেন কি, ব্লেডের (blade ) যে নকশা তা আজও অপরিবর্তিত! কেন ব্লেডের এই নকশার বদল ঘ’টেনি, আর কেনই বা এই নকশা করা হয়েছে?

১৯০১ সালে জিলেট ক’র্মসংস্থার প্রতিষ্ঠাতা কিং ক্যাম্প জিলেট এবং সহক’র্মী উইলিয়াম নিক্সারসন একটি ব্লেডের ডিজাইন করে আমেরিকায় ব্যবসা শুরু করেন। সংস্থাটি প্রতিষ্ঠিত হবার ৩ বছর পর প্রথমে ১৬৫ টি ব্লেড প্র’স্তুত করেন।

এরপর থেকে আর পিছন ফি’রে তাকাতে হয়নি। যাবতীয় চিন্তাভাবনা করেই ব্লেডের স’ঙ্গে রেজারের হাতল আ’টকানোর জন্য স্ক্রু ও নাট-বল্টু ব্যবহৃত হত। কেন অন্যান্য সংস্থাও এই স্টাইল ও নকশা অনুকরণ করল?
কারণ হিসেবে জা’না যায়, সে সময় একমাত্র জিলেটই রেজার তৈরি করত। তাই অন্যান্য সংস্থাও একই পথে হাঁটা শুরু করেছিল।বর্তমান সময়ে বিভিন্ন ধ’রণের ব্লেড বের হলেও,

King Camp Gillette, co-founder of the Gillette Company, and his colleague William Nixon began designing a blade in the United States in 1901. The company first made 175 blades three years after its inception.
