Sourav Ganguly resigns as BCCI 2022: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly has completed 30 years in cricket. He has informed by tweeting on Wednesday (June 1) that he can start a new inning.

However, Ganguly has not told anything in detail about this. He has definitely written so much that soon he will tell the whole world about this.

After Ganguly’s tweet, there were speculations that he might resign from the post of BCCI President, but BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has clarified that Ganguly has not resigned from his post.

“I started my innings as a cricketer in 1992. It is completing 30 years in 2022. Cricket has given me a lot during this time. Most importantly, I got the support of all of you. I want to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey, supported me and helped me get to where I am today.

Today I am thinking of starting something through which I can help a large number of people. I hope you will continue to help me in the new chapter of my life as well.

Sourav Ganguly met Amit Shah:

Home Minister Amit Shah met Ganguly on May 6. Shah had reached the dinner at Ganguly’s residence in Kolkata.

After this meeting of both, it was speculated that Ganguly might join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). There was talk of this last year also, but then Ganguly refused to join the BJP.

Cricket career of Sourav Ganguly:

Sourav Ganguly made his international debut in 1992 against West Indies in Brisbane. He then played the first Test match against England at Lord’s ground in London in 1996. Ganguly’s last Test was against Australia in Nagpur in 2008.

He last played ODI in 2007 against Pakistan in Gwalior. Ganguly scored 7212 runs in 113 Tests at an average of 42.17. At the same time, he has 11363 runs in 311 ODIs. During this his average was 41.02. The former Indian captain scored 16 centuries in Tests and 22 in ODIs.

Career of Sourav Ganguly:

Sourav Ganguly handled every responsibility very well from a player to a captain in his cricket career of 16 years. He made his ODI debut for India in 1992. Four years later, in 1996, he was seen playing Test cricket in a white jersey. He also represented Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. He scored 7212 runs in 113 Test matches for India and took 32 wickets.

Ganguly has scored 7212 runs in 188 innings of 113 Tests for India at an average of 42.17 and a strike rate of 51.25. During this, he has scored 35 fifties and 16 centuries. His highest score in Test is 239 runs.

He has scored 11363 runs in 311 ODIs for India at an average of 41.02 and strike rate of 73.70. He has scored 72 half-centuries and 22 centuries in one-day matches. His highest score in ODIs is 183 runs. Apart from this, he has scored 1726 runs in 77 T20 matches at an average of 25.01 and strike rate of 107.00. He has also scored 8 half-centuries in this format.
