Pharmacist Recruitment 2025: The Tamil Nadu Medical Services Recruitment Board (MRB) has announced openings for 425 Pharmacist positions within the Tamil Nadu Medical Subordinate Service. Applications are being accepted online only until March 10, 2025. This recruitment drive offers a chance to join the healthcare sector with a competitive pay scale of Rs. 35,400 – 1,30,400 (Pay Matrix Level-11).
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must possess a Diploma in Pharmacy, Bachelor of Pharmacy, or Pharm.D degree. Crucially, they must also be registered with the Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council and maintain active registration. Citizenship requirements include Indian citizenship, or subject status of Nepal or Bhutan, or Person of Indian Origin status with appropriate certification.

Selection Process:
The selection process involves a two-stage examination:
- Tamil Language Eligibility Test: This is a one-hour test at the SSLC standard, with a maximum of 50 marks and a qualifying score of 40%. Passing this test is mandatory to proceed to the next stage.
- Computer Based Examination (CBT): A two-hour objective-type exam with 100 questions in English, focusing on Diploma level Pharmacy topics. The qualifying marks are 30 for SC/STA/ST candidates and 35 for others. There is no negative marking.
Notably, there is no interview for this position. Selection will be based on CBT scores, with consideration for COVID-19 duty incentive marks (detailed below) and adherence to reservation rules.
COVID-19 Duty Incentives:
Pharmacists who served in Government Medical Institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible for incentive marks. These marks range from two to five, depending on the length of service (minimum six months) and are awarded based on a COVID Duty Certificate. Specific conditions apply, including having cleared the Tamil Eligibility Test and providing the required certificate from the appropriate medical officer.
Exam Centers and Fees:
The examination will be conducted in one or more centers across all 38 districts of Tamil Nadu. Candidates will bear their own travel expenses. The application fee is Rs. 500 for SC/SCA/ST/DAP(PH) candidates and Rs. 1000 for others. Fees are non-refundable.
