ISRO Hiring 2026: The Department of Space (DOS) under the Government of India has invited applications for the post of Legal Consultant on a contractual basis at its Secretariat in Bengaluru. The engagement is temporary in nature and offers an opportunity for experienced legal professionals to work closely with India’s national space administration.

About the Department of Space
The Department of Space is responsible for formulating and implementing India’s space programmes, including:
- Development of space transportation systems
- Design and operation of satellites for communication, navigation, earth observation, and meteorology

- Research in space science and planetary exploration

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Graduation in Law from a recognized university in India through regular mode
- Computer knowledge is mandatory
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in handling legal cases, particularly related to Government of India service matters
- Experience in dealing with cases before CAT, High Courts, or Supreme Court related to service rules, public procurement, or arbitration is desirable
- Retired Central Government employees at the level of Under Secretary, with a law degree and experience in legal sections, are also eligible to apply
Age Limit
- Maximum age: Less than 63 years
- Age will be calculated as on 1 January 2026
Remuneration and Leave
- Monthly remuneration: ₹50,000 (fixed)
- No additional allowances such as TA/DA will be provided
- Leave entitlement includes:
- 8 days of paid casual leave
- 30 days of unpaid earned leave
- Unutilised leave cannot be carried forward, and remuneration will be adjusted based on leave taken
Selection Process
Applications will be scrutinised by a committee. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. The Department of Space reserves the right to fill or cancel the position without assigning any reason.
