International Yoga Day 2022: The 8th International Yoga Day will be celebrated all over the world including India tomorrow i.e. on 21st June. People all over the world gather and do yoga from place to place and work to spread awareness about yoga in the public mind.

Actually, yoga is very important to keep the body healthy. Yoga keeps a person healthy, as well as staying fit, he attains a long life. Seeing the importance of yoga in human life, since 2015, International Yoga Day is being celebrated all over the world on 21st June.

The theme of International Yoga Day 2022:

Every year a new theme is kept on Yoga Day, about which people are very excited. According to the information received by the Ministry of AYUSH, this year the theme ‘Yoga for Humanity’ has been chosen. Which means Yoga for Humanity.

Keeping this theme in mind this year, Yoga Day will be celebrated all over the world.

History of International Yoga Day:

The celebration of International Yoga Day was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the year 2015. Prime Minister Modi had proposed to celebrate Yoga Day in the meeting of the United Nations. On 11 December 2014, it was announced that every year 21 June would be celebrated as International Yoga Day.

In fact, on 27 September 2014, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi had called for celebrating Yoga Day across the world in the Joint General Assembly. The United Nations General Assembly accepted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposal. On 11 December 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared 21 June as International Yoga Day.

Why is World Yoga Day celebrated on 21st June?

The main reason behind this is that, June 21 is the longest day of the Northern Hemisphere, which is also known as the summer solstice. According to Indian tradition, the sun is Dakshinayan after the summer solstice.

Importance of Yoga in Human Life:

Yoga is very important for peace of body and mind. Doing yoga keeps the body healthy. Also yoga has a positive effect on human life. By doing yoga daily, physical and mental diseases stay away. To reduce the increasing stress and the problems arising out of lifestyle can be overcome with yoga. By doing yoga, the body becomes strong. Yoga increases physical and mental energy.

People doing yoga are better than other people in terms of immunity as well as being fit. In view of this, other people have also started doing yoga while taking care of their own health.

YOGA for women:

  •  Chakrasana-

By doing Chakrasana, the body gets many benefits. Due to this, the oxygen flow in the body remains good. Stress is reduced and eyes remain healthy. By doing this, the fatigue of the day goes away. Women must do this asana.

How to do Chakrasana- To do Chakrasana, lie down on your back and bend your legs, place your feet on the floor and turn the palms upside down and keep them near your ears. As you inhale, press your palms and feet on the ground for support, straighten your arms and legs and lift your pelvis upwards. Slowly raise your whole body upwards to form an arch. Now slowly keep the head back and relax your neck.

  • Halasana-

Women who are troubled by the problem of back, legs and stomach, they must do Halasana. This gives strength to the back muscles and spinal cord. Improves blood circulation and proves beneficial for digestion.

How to do Halasana- Lie straight on the ground on your back. Now keep both hands on the ground near the thighs. While inhaling, slowly raise both the legs straight up. Press the hands down and bend the waist and put the feet behind the head. After 2-3 minutes without raising the head, slowly come to the normal position.

  • Anjanayasana-

Do Anjanyasana for weight loss. Due to this posture will improve digestion and blood circulation will be much better. Doing this daily will reduce stress and strengthen the immune system.

How to do Anjaneyasana- To do this asana, sit in the posture of Vajrasana. Now take your left foot backwards and place the sole of the right foot on the ground. Take both the hands above the head and join them together. Try to lean backwards slowly. During this, move your hands as far back as possible. Stay like this for a while and come back to the old position.
