Department-Wise Distribution of Posts
- Infrastructure Planning & Management (IPM) – 3 Posts (2 UR, 1 EWS)
- Qualification: ITI Certificate in Electrician Trade with 3 years’ experience in operation of 33/11 KV, 11/0.433 KV substation and DG sets.
- Note: ITI certificate course after 10th standard will be considered.
- Central Workshop – 2 Posts (1 UR + 1 UR)
- Qualification:
- ITI Certificate in Carpentry with 3 years’ experience OR
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering OR
- ITI Certificate in Turner with 3 years’ experience in operating CNC machines.
- Qualification:
- Central Instruments Facility (CIF) – 1 Post (UR)
- Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Physics/Chemistry) OR
- Minimum Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Physics, Biotechnology, or Chemical Engineering.
- Desirable: Minimum 1 year hands-on experience in operating sophisticated instruments in an industry/academic R&D or research institute.
- Qualification:
Educational Qualification (General)
- Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field, OR
- Diploma in Engineering (3 years) in appropriate field, OR
- ITI with 3 years’ experience in the relevant trade.
- Computer knowledge is desirable for all positions.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 27 years (as per rules).
- No upper age limit for regular employees of IIT Guwahati.
Salary
- Pay Level: 3 (As per 7th CPC)
- Basic Pay: ₹21,700/- per month (approx. ₹28,000 – ₹30,000 with allowances).
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- Must meet the educational qualification and experience required for the specific post.
- Upper age limit relaxation as per Government of India rules for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-servicemen.
