DRDO JRF Recruitment 2025: Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Young Scientists’ Laboratory for Smart Materials (DYSL-SM) has released a notification for the recruitment of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). Walk-in-Interview for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
DRDO Young Scientists’ Laboratory for Smart Materials (DYSL-SM) is dedicated to the development of smart material technology solutions for national defence. The laboratory specialises in accelerated materials development, micro-robotics and stealth technologies.
Indian Nationals are invited for walk-in-interview on 26.08.2025 @ 09:30 hrs for the position of One (01) Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on project in the area of Development of Smart Materials based robotic application including shape memory alloy and piezoelectric Materials.
Educational Qualification for DRDO JRF Recruitment 2025:

Essential Qualification:
B.E/B.Tech. in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering with First Class with a valid GATE score
OR
M.E./M.Tech. with First class in Mechanical Mechatronics / Robotics & Automation / Machine Design / Solid Mechanics and B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering with First class.
Desirable criteria:
Working knowledge of finite element packages, CAD, 3D Printing, Composite Materials, basic electronics and instrumentation.
Age Limit:
What are the age limit for the engagement of DRDO –in detail below;
The age limit for JRF is maximum of 28 years as on the date of application. The age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates or as per Govt. guidelines. A copy of self-attested caste certificate should be attached with the application.
Fellowship Emoluments for DRDO JRF Recruitment 2025:
Rs. 37,000/~ per month for JRF with applicable H.R.A. and other emoluments as per DRDO rules.
Tenure:
The post is temporary in nature and the initial tenure is for 02 (Two) years. Subsequent upgradation to SRF grade is as per DRDO guidelines
Selection Procedure:
The eligible candidates can “WALK IN FOR INTERVIEW” at DRDO Young Scientists Laboratory for Smart Materials (DYSL-SM), AMTL Campus (near DMRL), KANCHANBAGH, HYDERABAD-500058 on 26.08.2025 @ 09:30 hrs. Late comers will not be allowed.
While appearing for interview, the candidates are required to bring all original certificates and submit the prescribed application form with recent passport size photograph affixed on top right corner of the first page and one set of self-attested copies of all Degrees/Academic qualification certificates/Mark Sheets/Experience Certificates etc. Application Form can be downloaded from the DRDO website www.drdo.gov.in (DRDO website > What’s New). Duly filled in application form with supporting documents in PDF format shall be submitted online on email ID: [email protected] (below 10MB).
Screening of eligible applications will be based on GATE score, marks secured in degree, fulfilment of desirability criteria and relevant work experience (if any). The GATE score should be valid as on the date of interview in the aforementioned subject only.
