BSF Constable (Tradesman) Recruitment 2025: Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Directorate General Border Security Force, (Personnel Directorate; Recruitment Section has released a notification for the recruitment of Constable (Tradesman) (Male & Female) in Border Security Force for the year 2024-25.
Online applications are invited from MALE & FEMALE Indian Citizens for filling up 3588* vacancies (3406 Vacancies for Male candidates and 182 Vacancies for Female candidates) for the post of Constable (Tradesman) Exam 2024-25 in Border Security Force.

Educational Qualification:
What are the educational qualification for the engagement of BSF Constable –in detail below;
Class 10 (Matriculation) pass from a recognized board
For technical trades (e.g., Carpenter, Electrician, Plumber, Painter, Upholster, Pump Operator):
- 2‑year ITI certificate in relevant trade, OR
- 1‑year ITI/vocational certificate + 1 year practical experience
For non-technical trades (e.g., Cobbler, Tailor, Sweeper, Barber, Washerman):
- Matriculation + proficiency in trade + pass trade test
Age Limit:
Between 18 to 25 years as on last date of online application. Relaxable in respect of the candidates for SC/ ST/ OBC and other special categories of personnel in accordance with the instructions issued by Central Govt. from time to time.
Physical & Medical Standards:
- Height: Male: 165 cm (varied by region/reservation), Female: 148–155 cm depending on category
- Chest: Male: 75–80 cm; not applicable for females
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- Male: 5 km run in 24 min
- Female: 1.6 km run in 8 min 30 sec
- Medical exam: Visual acuity, hearing, absence of physical deformities, overall health per BSF norms
Salary & Benefits:
Pay Level‑3, Pay Band: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100 (7th CPC)
Perks and allowances: House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, Dearness Allowance, and other Central Government benefits
Examination fee and mode of payment (BSF Constable (Tradesman) Recruitment 2025):
(a) Candidates belonging to Un-reserved(UR), EWS category or OBC category applying for recruitment to the posts shall have to deposit Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred) only as examination fee plus Rs. 50/- (Rupees Fifty) plus 18% GST only service charges levied by Common Service Centre (CSC) through following payment mode :-
- Net banking of any Bank.
- Credit/Debit Card of any Bank.
- Nearest authorized Common Service Centre.
(b) Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, BSF serving personnel and Ex-Servicemen are exempted from payment of examination fee.
(c) Payment of examination fee will be accepted only through online mode.
