BHEL, established in 1964, caters to multiple sectors including Power, Defence, Aerospace, Railways, Oil & Gas, and Renewable Energy. With a global presence in over 89 countries, the company now invites skilled candidates to join as Artisan Grade-IV in various trades across multiple manufacturing units.

A total of 515 vacancies have been announced across different BHEL units. The trade-wise breakup is as follows:
- Fitter – 176
- Welder – 97
- Turner – 51
- Machinist – 104
- Electrician – 65
- Electronics Mechanic – 18
- Foundryman – 04

These vacancies are distributed across 11 manufacturing units including Ranipet, Visakhapatnam, Varanasi, Bengaluru, Haridwar, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Jhansi, and Tiruchirappalli.
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed Class 10th along with:
- National Trade Certificate (NTC/ITI) and
- National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the relevant trade.
- Minimum Marks Required:
- 60% for General & OBC candidates
- 55% for SC/ST candidates (in both ITI/NTC and NAC).
Age Limit (as on 01 July 2025)
- General / EWS: 27 years
- OBC (NCL): 30 years
- SC/ST: 32 years
- PWD & Ex-Servicemen: As per Govt. rules.
- Experience-based relaxation: Up to 7 years (subject to minimum 6 months of work experience).
Salary & Benefits
- Selected candidates will first serve as Temporary Employees for 1 year with consolidated wages as per unit norms.
- On successful completion, they will be regularized as Artisan Grade-IV in the pay scale of:
₹29,500 – ₹65,000/- plus allowances. - Special provisions:
- Best Apprentice (All India Skill Competition): Inducted with 2 increments.
- Runner-Up Apprentice: Inducted at minimum of the pay scale.
Selection Process
The selection will be conducted in two stages:
- Stage I: Computer Based Examination (CBE)
- Trade-specific test (100 marks).
- Shortlisting for Skill Test in 1:5 ratio.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- UR/EWS: 30 marks
- OBC/SC/ST: 22.5 marks
- Stage II: Skill Test & Document Verification
- Qualifying in nature.
- Final merit list will be prepared on CBE score only (Skill Test is mandatory to qualify).

- UR/EWS/OBC: ₹1072 (Examination Fee ₹600 + Processing Fee ₹400 + GST)
- SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen: ₹472 (Processing Fee ₹400 + GST)
