The Gobindapur Sephali Samaj Seba Samity has moved the Calcutta High Court to challenge a recent order issued by the district court. A significant portion of the Samiti’s workers, teachers, and students are demanding the immediate annulment of the district court’s directive to maintain transparency and efficiency in educational and administrative operations.
According to sources, Subhash Ghosh, a former secretary and member of the Gobindapur Sephali Samaj Seba Samity, filed a case (TS 2/2025) in the court of the District Judge of Purba Bardhaman. The court reportedly issued a unilateral order granting Ghosh permission to enter the Samiti’s premises. Subsequently, Ghosh filed another application under Section 151 of the Civil Procedure Code, where the court again issued a unilateral order in his favor.

Conversely, the president of the Gobindapur Sephali Samaj Seba Samity stated that Subhash Ghosh was expelled from his positions as secretary and member due to his involvement in illicit activities. Allegations have also been made that his actions were detrimental to the interests of the Samiti.
Following these developments, the “unilateral” order of the District Judge has been challenged through an appeal in the Calcutta High Court.
This situation has created tension both within and outside the social service organization. A large segment of the Gobindapur Sephali Samaj Seba Samity’s staff, educators, and students believe that the district court’s order should be revoked immediately to ensure the smooth functioning and transparency of educational and administrative work.
