Kuntal hails from the Balgona Bazar area of Bhatar in Purba Bardhaman. From a young age, he showed strong academic interest and consistently performed at the top level.
- In 2023, he passed Madhyamik (Class 10) from Balgona Shushundighi High School, securing the 12th rank in West Bengal.
- In 2025, he scored 493 marks in Higher Secondary (Class 12) from Bhatar Madhab Public High School and achieved 5th rank in the state.
His long-standing dream has been to pursue Computer Science engineering, and he began preparing seriously right after his secondary exams.

During his Class 12 years, Kuntal initially enrolled in a coaching institute in Durgapur. However, after reflecting on his previous result, he adjusted his preparation strategy.
This year, he:
