দ্বিতীয় উপন্যাসেই বাজিমাত, Booker Prize 2021 পেলেন প্রথম ফরাসি
Booker Prize 2021: বুকার (booker) পুরস্কার (award) পেলেন ডেভিড ডিওপ (David diop)। তিনি ফরাসি (french) সাহিত্যিক। ডিওপই প্রথম ফরাসি সাহিত্যিক যিনি এই পুরস্কার পেলেন।
তিনি Booker Prize পেয়েছেন তাঁর ‘At night, all blood is black.- উপন্যাসের জন্য। উপন্যাসের কাহিনী তৈরি হয়েছে প্রথম বিশ্বযুদ্ধের অভিজ্ঞতার উপর ভিত্তি করে।
২০২১ সালের বুকার পুরস্কারের জন্য মোট পাঁচটি বই চূড়ান্ত তালিকায় ছিল। শেষ পর্যন্ত বিচারকেরা ডিওপের’অ্যাট নাইট, অল ব্লাড ইস ব্ল্যাক’- উপন্যাসকেই বেছে নেন সেরা হিসাবে।
বইতে লেখক তথা সাহিত্যের অধ্যাপক ডেভিড একজন তরুণের কথা বলেছেন, যিনি প্রথম বিশ্বযুদ্ধে ফ্রান্সের হয়ে লড়েছিলেন।
বিচারকদের তরফে বলা হয়েছে, ‘এই গল্পটি প্রবল শক্তিধর দেশগুলির যুদ্ধ, ভালোবাসার কাহিনি। আমরা মনে করেছি যে, এই উপন্যাস মনের মধ্যে এক নতুন অনুভূতির জন্ম দেয়।’বিবিসি-কে ডেভিড ডিওপ সম্প্রতি বলেছেন, ‘আমার প্রপিতামহ যুদ্ধের অভিজ্ঞতা নিয়ে তার স্ত্রী বা মা-কে কিছু বলতেন না। তাই আমি বিষয়টি জানতে আরও উৎসুক হয়ে পড়ি। তিনি আমাকে সে সব কথা বলেন। তার ভিত্তিতেই এই উপন্যাস’।

A total of five books were shortlisted for the 2021 Booker Prize. In the end, the judges chose Diop’s novel “At Night, All Blood Is Black” as the best.
In the book, David, a writer, and professor of literature talk about a young man who fought for France in World War I.
The judges said, “This is a story of war and love between powerful nations. We think this novel gives birth to a new feeling in the mind. ‘David Diop recently told the BBC:’ My great-grandfather would not tell his wife or mother about the war experience. So I became more curious about it. He told me all that. This is the basis of this novel.
