Bolpur, 27 May: Spain-র Princess of Asturias সম্মানে ভূষিত হলেন নোবেলজয়ী অর্থনীতিবিদ Amartya Sen । সমাজবিজ্ঞানে এটি Spain-র সর্বোচ্চ সম্মান ।

Spanish Prize Foundation তাঁকে এই সম্মানে ভূষিত করে ।বার্সেলোনায় কাসা এশিয়ার Director জেনেরাল জেভিয়ার প্যারানডো তাঁর নাম মনোনীত করেছিলেন । Princess of Asturias Foundation-র তরফে এক Press release-তে জানানো হয়েছে, 20 টি দেশের 41 জন বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তির মধ্যে থেকে Amartya Sen কে বেছে নেওয়া হয়েছে এই সম্মানের জন্য ।

Amartya Sen honored by Spain
Bolpur, May 27: Nobel laureate economist Amartya Sen has been awarded the Princess of Asturias in Spain. This is Spain’s highest honor in sociology.
The Spanish Prize Foundation awarded him the honor. Xavier Parando, Director General of Casa Asia in Barcelona, nominated him. According to a press release from the Princess of Asturias Foundation, Amartya Sen has been chosen from 41 eminent personalities from 20 countries for the honor.
He has done a lot of research on famine and his Theory of Human Development, public welfare economy, and poverty alleviation.
These have helped a lot in the fight against injustice and inequality in society. A statue of Joan Mir has been given as a prize A Certificate and 50,000 Euros.
