SBI ATM Fee Increases: State Bank of India (SBI) has revised its ATM and ADWM (Automated Deposit-cum-Withdrawal Machine) service charges, making cash withdrawals and non-financial transactions more expensive for many customers. The new charges have come into effect from 1 December 2025.
This is the first hike in SBI ATM charges since February 2025, and it will mainly impact customers who frequently use other banks’ ATMs or exceed their free transaction limits.
New Charges for ATM Cash Withdrawal (SBI ATM Fee Increases)
If SBI customers withdraw cash from other banks’ ATMs beyond the free transaction limit, they will now have to pay:
- ₹23 per transaction + GST
Earlier, the charge was ₹21 + GST. This means customers will now pay more for every additional cash withdrawal once the free limit is exhausted.
Balance Enquiry and Mini Statement Also Costlier
The increase is not limited to cash withdrawals. Non-financial transactions have also become more expensive:
- Mini statement or balance enquiry at ATM:
- New charge: ₹11 + GST
- Earlier charge: ₹10 + GST
Even checking account details at an ATM after crossing the free limit will now cost more.
Free ATM Transaction Limit Remains Unchanged
SBI has clarified that there is no change in the number of free ATM transactions for regular savings account holders.
- Customers can still make 5 free ATM transactions per month at other banks’ ATMs
- These include both:
- Financial transactions (cash withdrawal)
- Non-financial transactions (balance enquiry, mini statement)
The revised charges will apply only after the free limit is crossed.
Big Change for Salary Account Holders
Earlier, SBI salary account holders enjoyed unlimited free transactions at other banks’ ATMs. This benefit has now been withdrawn.
New rule for salary accounts (SBI ATM Fee Increases):
- 10 free ATM transactions per month
- After that:
- Cash withdrawal: ₹23 + GST per transaction
- Non-financial transaction: ₹11 + GST per transaction
This change is expected to affect salaried customers who frequently rely on non-SBI ATMs.
Which Accounts Will NOT Be Affected?
SBI has stated that certain customer categories will remain fully protected from the revised charges:
- Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts
- SBI debit card holders using SBI ATMs
- Cardless cash withdrawal at SBI ATMs
- Kisan Credit Card (KCC) accounts
For these accounts and services, existing benefits will continue.
