Eligibility Criteria for BRIC-NIBMG Recruitment
Essential Qualification & Experience
Candidates must possess:
- PhD in Life Sciences / Statistical Science / Computational Science / Genetic Epidemiology relevant to Biomedical Genomics
OR - MD / MD-MTech
Additionally, applicants must have:
- At least 3 years of post-doctoral research experience
- A strong record of high-quality scientific publications
Desirable Expertise
Candidates with independent research capability in the following areas will be preferred:
- Cancer Biology
- Genome Biology
- Microbiology
- Infection & Immunity using Genomics
- Genome editing (human cells or model organisms)
- Chromosome biology
- Single-cell or spatial genomics
- Imaging and microscopic techniques
- Translational research and drug screening
Job Responsibilities
The selected NIBMG Fellow will:
- Establish and run an independent research laboratory at international standards
- Teach PhD and Integrated PhD students
- Participate in administrative responsibilities
- Assist the Director / Associate Director in academic and institutional matters
- Apply for extramural research grants in India and abroad
The institute provides generous start-up grants, though intramural funding is competitive and not guaranteed.
