JEE Advanced 2026: The JEE Advanced 2026 exam is a big engineering entrance test for students who want to get into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other top colleges. Only students who clear JEE Main 2026 and are in the top 2,50,000 ranks can apply for this exam. It will be held on 17 May 2026, and IIT Roorkee is organising it this year.

What Is JEE Advanced 2026?
JEE Advanced is a national-level exam that tests students in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. There are two papers on the same day, and both must be attempted. The exam is done on a computer, and questions are meant to check problem-solving and deep understanding.

- Last date to pay fee: 4 May 2026
- Admit cards available: 11 to 17 May 2026
- Exam date: 17 May 2026 (Morning and afternoon sessions)

How Much Is the Application Fee?
The application fee you pay depends on your category and where you take the exam:
For exam centres in India
- Female Candidates (all categories): ₹1,600
- SC, ST, and PwD candidates: ₹1,600
- Other candidates: ₹3,200
For exam centres outside India
- Indian students going abroad: About USD 200
- Foreign students from SAARC countries: USD 200
- Foreign students from non-SAARC countries: USD 300
These fees must be paid online when you register. The fees are non-refundable.
Where Are the Exam Centres?
JEE Advanced 2026 will be conducted in many cities across India and a couple of cities outside India. There are around 321 exam cities in India and 2 abroad. Some cities that were exam centres earlier may not be included this year. When you register, you can choose the cities where you prefer to take the exam, and the authorities will try to assign one of your choices.
What’s New This Year?
There are a few changes in JEE Advanced 2026:
- Fees for foreign exam centres have changed compared to last year.
- Some exam cities have been removed from the list, so candidates need to check the updated list before choosing preferences.
Eligibility And Number Of Candidates
As per the bulletin, eligibility for admission to the IITs remains unchanged: candidates must have 75% marks in Class 12 (or be in the top 20 percentile of their board). Based on JEE Main results, the top 2.5 lakh candidates will qualify for JEE Advanced.
