DRDO CHESS Recruitment 2025: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Centre for High Energy Systems and Sciences (CHESS), Hyderabad, has invited applications for the engagement of Graduate and Technician Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This recruitment provides young engineers and diploma holders an opportunity to gain hands-on training in advanced defence research projects.

Graduate (Degree) Apprentice – Stipend ₹9,000/- per month
- Computer Science & Engineering / IT / ICT / System Engineering / Information Science – 2 vacancies
- Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Instrumentation / Electrical & Electronics / Embedded Systems – 3 vacancies
- Mechanical / Manufacturing / Marine / Material Science / Production / Refrigeration & Air-conditioning / Mechatronics – 3 vacancies
- Chemical Engineering / Chemical Technology – 2 vacancies
Technician (Diploma) Apprentice – Stipend ₹8,000/- per month
- Computer Science / IT – 5 vacancies
- Electronics / Tele-Communication / Instrumentation / EEE / ECE – 4 vacancies
- Mechanical / Manufacturing / Production – 5 vacancies
- Chemical Engineering / Chemical Technology – 1 vacancy
Educational Qualification
- Graduate Apprentice: B.E./B.Tech in relevant disciplines (as mentioned above).
- Technician Apprentice: Diploma in relevant engineering disciplines.
- Note: Only candidates who passed in 2022, 2023, and 2024 are eligible.
- Postgraduates are not eligible.
Age Limit
- As per Apprentices Act rules.
- Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per government norms.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must not have training or job experience of one year or more after attaining the qualification.
- Only regular pass-out students are eligible.
- Candidates must be registered on the NATS 2.0 portal (https://nats.education.gov.in).

- Visit the official website www.drdo.gov.in and download the application form (Annexure-A).
- Fill the application in prescribed format and attach self-attested copies of educational certificates.
- Superscribe the envelope as “Application for Apprenticeship”.
- Send through Speed Post to:

PO: Vignyana Kancha, Hyderabad – 500069.
- Only offline applications are accepted. Applications via email will not be considered.
Selection Procedure
- Selection will be based on percentage of marks obtained in essential qualification.
- Document verification will be conducted before final engagement.
- Medical fitness certificate required at the time of joining.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending selection/joining.
Training Period
- The apprenticeship will be for 12 months from the date of contract execution.
- Apprenticeship does not guarantee future employment in DRDO.
